Founder and Director of West London Languages
My name is Mercedes Mena and I have a real passion for getting people enthusiastic and excited about learning. I founded West London Languages to show that studying does not have to be dull and lifeless. The work I do (and encourage others to do) is to make education interesting and fun; learning a language builds confidence, helps people communicate freely and provides skills for life.
I was born in London, but both my parents are Spanish, so I grew up bilingually. I have lived in Madrid for eight years before returning to London, which made me realise the importance of learning languages from an early age.
I started West London Languages in 2012 because I enjoy teaching, but it assumed a life of its own – following recommendations from parents, teachers and pupils – to become one of the premier language centres in the area and a central resources for primary and secondary schools. I hope you find what you’re looking for and I will be more than happy to chat to you about the school, my methods and what language support I can offer.
